Expanding your mailbox storage

Expanding your mailbox storage can be done at Mailflux in two ways: freeing up space in your current mailbox, or moving to a plan with more storage. The plans offer 8 GB with Basic, 25 GB with Pro and 50 GB with Premium, and the latter is expandable to 100 GB. Is your mailbox full or filling up? In this guide you'll read step by step how to get more storage without any mail being lost.

What you need

  • Your email address and password to log in to webmail.mailflux.eu.
  • Access to your Mailflux account, where you manage your plan.
  • An idea of your current usage: how much of your storage is already in use?

Expanding mailbox storage: step by step

  1. Go to webmail.mailflux.eu and log in. In your Settings or at the bottom of your folder list, check how much storage you're already using.
  1. First free up space if a quick fix is enough: empty your Trash and your Spam folder, and search for large attachments you no longer need.
  2. If your mailbox is structurally filling up, then more storage is the better choice. Go to your Mailflux account and open the management of your subscription.
  3. Choose a plan with more storage: from Basic (8 GB) to Pro (25 GB) or Premium (50 GB). The storage goes up immediately once you upgrade.
  4. If you have Premium and want to go beyond 50 GB, then expansion up to 100 GB is possible. Arrange this via your account or contact support.
  1. Compare the plans and prices at your leisure on the pricing page before you choose.

Free up space or upgrade?

Freeing up space is fine for a one-off peak: a few heavy attachments gone and you're fine again. If your mailbox fills up again and again, then a plan with more storage saves you the hassle. Because you pay per mailbox and your storage grows with your plan, you never pay for more than you need. More storage doesn't, by the way, mean your mail gets slower: everything stays hosted in Europe and simply fast to search.

Not working?

  • I get a message that my mailbox is full. First free up space in your Trash and Spam, and delete large attachments. If it stays tight, upgrade to a plan with more storage.
  • My storage doesn't seem to go up after an upgrade. Log out and back in; the new limit is then visible. If it's still not right, contact support.
  • Old mail isn't stored locally. If you work via IMAP, everything is on the server and counts towards your storage. The server values are on IMAP and server settings.

Done

You have space again, whether through tidying up or through a roomier plan. Keep an eye on your storage meter now and then, and a full mailbox will never catch you out. Not sure which plan suits you? Take a look at the clear pricing or let us know, we're happy to think along with you.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much storage do I need?

That depends on how many attachments you keep. Anyone who mainly receives text mail will last years on 8 GB. If you send and keep a lot of photos, PDFs or large files, then 25 or 50 GB is more comfortable. Look at your current usage in the webmail and choose with some margin, so you don't have to expand again soon.

Do I lose mail if I switch plans?

No. With an upgrade all your existing mail simply stays; you only get more space. Nothing is deleted or moved. You only notice that your storage limit goes up, so that new messages and attachments fit again without any trouble.
