Restoring email from a backup
What you need
- Your email address and password to log in to webmail.mailflux.eu.
- The details of the lost mail: which mailbox and folder it concerns, roughly which date, and the sender or subject.
- A bit of patience: the sooner you notice it, the easier it is to find again.

Restoring email from a backup: step by step
- Go to webmail.mailflux.eu and log in with your email address and password.
- First open your Trash. Recently deleted messages are often still here.
- Found the message? Select it and click Move to and choose your Inbox (or the right folder). It's back in place right away.
- If it's not there, check your Spam folder and your Archive; messages sometimes end up there by accident.
- If the message really can't be found anywhere, the automatic backup comes into play. Gather the details from What you need and contact our support.
- We'll look together with you at what can be restored from the backup and keep you posted.
What the automatic backups do
Every Mailflux plan automatically backs up your mail, so a copy exists if something goes wrong. Think of it as insurance in the background: you don't need to set anything up for it. Because restoring from a backup has to be done carefully, we do it together via support rather than through a self-service button. That way we prevent wrong or old data being accidentally written over your mailbox. You'll find more background in why email backup matters.
Not working?
- My trash is empty or the message is no longer in it. Check your Spam and Archive, and see whether the message is still visible on another device before the folders synchronise.
- I use a mail program and can't see the folders properly. Work via IMAP, so your folders stay in sync everywhere. The server values are on IMAP and server settings.
- The message is permanently gone. Contact support with the details of the lost mail; we'll see whether it can be restored from the backup.
Done
Often your mail is back sooner than feared: a glance in the trash usually solves it. And if a message is truly gone, you're not on your own, because the automatic backups have you covered. Can't work it out? Feel free to get in touch, we're happy to help you personally.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Can I restore a backup myself with a button?
No, that's not something you do yourself. You retrieve deleted mail yourself from your trash, but restoring from an automatic backup is done carefully via our support. That way we prevent wrong or outdated data ending up over your mailbox. Get in touch with the details and we'll arrange it together with you.
What details does support need from me?
Indicate which mailbox it concerns, which folder the message was in, roughly what date you lost it and who the sender was or what the subject was. The more precise those details, the faster we find the right message. Report it as soon as possible too, as that gives the best chance of a smooth recovery.
