Frequently asked questions

Got a question about Mailflux? Take a look at our FAQ: we answer all the common questions.

Can I use my own domain name?

Certainly. As long as you have access to your domain's DNS settings, you connect your own domain name to Mailflux without a hitch. You then send mail with your own name after the @, for example you@yourbusiness.be, instead of with the address of a free mail service.

In practice that runs through a handful of DNS records: we pass on the right MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC values, and you (or whoever manages your domain) add them in the DNS settings at your registrar. A concrete example: you log in with your registrar, open the DNS management screen and copy the supplied values across. After a change like that it can take 24 to 48 hours before it has been applied everywhere, so give it a moment after setting it up.

Not sure whether your current domain is suitable, or how exactly the move works? Then read connecting your domain to your email for the step-by-step explanation, or email on your own domain for the background. Don't have a domain name at all yet? Then read what if I don't have a domain name yet.
